Sales Training & Enablement Manager
About Voltus
Voltus is the leading DER technology platform and virtual power plant operator, connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets to deliver less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. We hire teammates who are bright, gritty, and good, with a genuine passion for a cleaner energy future.
Voltus is growing rapidly, and we see sales training and enablement as a critical function to capitalize on that growth. We're looking for a Sales Training Lead who is equal parts content creator, program manager, and facilitator — someone who takes full ownership of the systems, materials, and experiences that make our sales team effective from day one and beyond.
This is a highly visible, fully remote role with a high degree of autonomy. You won't just deliver training — you'll build and own the infrastructure behind it.
What You'll Own
**Onboarding Experience**You are the architect of the new hire journey. You'll design, manage, and continuously improve a structured 90-day onboarding program that introduces new sales team members to our sales process, product, industry, and culture. This includes building resources, cheat sheets, and role-specific guides, coordinating with regional sales leaders, and developing individualized coaching plans at the close of each onboarding cycle.
**Sales Playbooks & Content**You'll own the creation and maintenance of our core sales content — playbooks, talk tracks, objection handling guides, competitive briefs, and process documentation. This content needs to be accurate, accessible, and alive — regularly updated to reflect what's actually working in the field.
**Monthly & Ongoing Training Programs**You'll plan and run a recurring training calendar for the full sales organization. This includes live sessions (remote and in-person), skill development workshops, and course-based learning — covering everything from fundamentals to advanced topics as the team grows and the market evolves. This includes running the Flight School program that helps sales associates gain the skills to be successful Sales Directors.
**Learning Management System (LMS)**You'll manage our LMS, Lessonly end-to-end: building and grading courses, tracking completion and performance, and ensuring the content library stays current and organized.
**Training Gaps & Continuous Improvement**You'll identify what's working and what isn't by observing sales calls, analyzing metrics, gathering feedback, and working closely with sales leadership. You'll turn those insights into updated content, new programs, or process changes.
Cross-Functional Projects You'll take on additional enablement projects as the business evolves — new product launches, process rollouts, cross-departmental alignment initiatives, and anything else that helps the sales team perform at a higher level.
Why This Role Matters
You'll be the reason new hires ramp faster, the team stays sharp, and our sales approach stays consistent and competitive as we scale. Voltus operates in a constantly changing market subject to regulatory change and competition. The business is growing massively year over year and we need to hire, onboard, and retain top talent to advance the fight against climate change.
What We're Looking For
Prior experience in sales, sales training, or sales enablement
Proven ability to build and manage content and programs — not just deliver them
Strong written communication skills; you can turn complex ideas into clear, usable materials
Comfortable owning a project from blank page to execution without heavy oversight
Experience with a Learning Management System preferred
Strong presentation and facilitation skills — you can hold a room (or a Google Meet)
Able to adapt to different learning styles and personality types
Aligned with our company values: Bright, Gritty, and Good
Willingness to travel occasionally for in-person training initiatives
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).
Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.
At Voltus, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer because we recognize that a diverse organization begins with a diverse candidate pool. This means we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of your gender identity, race, nationality, religion, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability status, or marital status.

Director of Product, Customer Experience
About Voltus
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. Our commercial and industrial customers and grid services partners generate cash by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets.
At Voltus, we live by the mantra "doing well by doing good" — and that includes actively doing our best by our team, clients, and partners.
Role Overview
Voltus is seeking an exceptional Director of Product Management to lead the team that owns the core customer-facing aspects of our platform. Reporting to the VP of Product & Design, you will lead critical product areas including customer dispatch, customer performance, market settlement, customer hardware and metering data, and the overall customer financial experience — all of which are essential to driving trust, value, and retention for customers.
As Voltus scales into new resource types, customer segments, and markets, this is the role that turns our market-leading position into a market-leading customer experience — one that lets customers self-serve, understand their economics, and earn more value per MW under management. Success means helping customers win because we've made it easy for them to perform.
This is a high-ownership leadership role with the opportunity to define bold strategy, build and scale a high-performing PM team, and apply deep product expertise to some of the most complex, commercially meaningful problems in energy. It's also a player-coach role: you will coach and develop the PMs on your team while staying hands-on, driving delivery for core features yourself. You and your team will partner closely with our market platform PM team, engineering, design, energy markets, and commercial leadership to deliver intuitive, scalable solutions that make it easier for customers to participate in (and profit from) electricity markets.
Voltus is a fully remote company. Candidates must reside and be authorized to work in the United States or Canada, aligned to a US time zone.
What You'll Do
Define and drive product strategy across the customer experience — dispatch, performance, settlement, metering and hardware data, and the financial experience — from how customers enroll and manage their assets to how they understand and trust every dollar Voltus earns them.
Lead and grow a team of product managers as a player-coach, fostering a culture of extreme ownership, rapid velocity, and customer obsession while staying close to the craft, and modeling how AI raises the ceiling on what a small, sharp product team can deliver.
Build a customer experience that scales, turning a historically high-touch, service-led relationship into a product customers can self-serve, and one ready for new resource types, segments, and markets.
Collaborate cross-functionally with the market platform PM team, engineering, design, energy markets, GTM, and executive leadership to prioritize, build, and ship impactful solutions at scale.
Balance vision and execution, moving fluidly between long-term strategy and hands-on product design, discovery, experimentation, and iteration.
Own the metrics that matter: customer engagement, retention, settlement accuracy, value per MW, and financial transparency. You don't just ship features; you create outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
10+ years in Product Management, with at least 3+ years leading and scaling PM teams in high-growth environments.
Deep expertise in energy markets, specifically demand response, DER participation, energy storage, or grid services. You understand enrollment, dispatch, performance measurement, and settlement, and you can hold your own with our Energy Markets team. This is a hard requirement, not a nice-to-have.
Proven track record shipping customer-facing products at scale, ideally turning high-touch, data intensive, financially driven relationships into scalable, self-serve product experiences.
Player-coach orientation, you want to lead and develop a team and stay close to the craft, and you're energized by both.
Fluency turning economic complexity into trust. You've built experiences where customers need to understand the financials — earnings, settlement, performance.
A track record of bringing AI into how product teams work. You've introduced AI tools and practices into a product organization — not just shipped AI features — and measurably improved how your team does discovery, writes specs, prototypes, and ships features. You can bring skeptics along and set a standard others follow.
Scrappy and action-oriented. You move fast, make hard calls with incomplete information but honed intuition, and do what needs to be done.
Effective communicator and cross-functional influencer, including at the executive level.
Technical Product Manager, Energy Storage
About Voltus
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. Our commercial and industrial customers and grid services partners generate cash by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets.
At Voltus, we live by the mantra “doing well by doing good” - and that includes actively doing our best by our team, clients and partners.
The Role
We're looking for a whip-smart, battery-focused Product Manager to own and scale Voltus's AI-native BESS end-to-end tooling: the product that turns the complex economics of BESS into clear, competitive proposals and equips our sales organization to win and deliver the most value to customers. This is a hands-on building role spanning the full BESS lifecycle, from initial proposal to operational, grid-participating asset. You'll work directly with the sales team and customers to find their real pain points, go deep on siting, permitting, and co-optimization, and ship the features that make batteries faster to size, easier to sell, and more valuable once they're dispatching. As a PM who builds, you'll write the PRD and help ship it, prototyping, extending the underlying AI agents, and using AI to set the bar for iterative delivery. You'll partner across Sales, Energy Markets, Partnerships, and customers to define, prioritize, and deliver.
If you've worked in the battery space as an engineer or product manager, speak the language of co-optimization fluently, and are excited about what AI agents can do in this product space, you'll thrive here.
Voltus is a fully distributed company and this job is remote, but you must be located and authorized to work within the United States or Canada.
Why This Role Matters
The energy transition runs on flexibility, and batteries are its most powerful source. As the leading virtual power plant operator, Voltus already turns distributed energy resources into cash for our customers and reliability for the grid, and storage is where we're going next.
Our Bring Your Own Capacity (BYOC) product lets hyperscalers fund capacity directly into the grid, including the first hyperscaler-funded VPP in a U.S. wholesale market, anchoring a pipeline of hundreds of MW of C&I battery storage over the next few years. You'll own the product that unlocks that pipeline and makes Voltus best-in-class on the time and cost to design, propose, and install a C&I battery. It's one of our most strategic areas of investment, sitting squarely at the intersection of the technical frontier and the company's growth thesis.
What You'll Do
Own and scale the BESS proposal-to-operation toolchain, the engine that converts the BYOC pipeline into deployed MW, and drive Voltus to best-in-class time and cost to bring a C&I battery online.
Go deep on co-optimization. Translate battery sizing, market participation, and revenue stacking across capacity and energy markets into tools that produce credible, competitive proposals quickly.
Build with AI, not just around it. Own and extend the agentic workflows at the foundation of our storage tooling, and apply AI across discovery, prototyping, and delivery.
Operate as both PM and engineer. Spec the work, prototype it, validate with customers, and iterate, staying hands-on in the product itself.
Run the program across the organization. Partner with Sales, Energy Markets, Partnerships, and customers to define, prioritize, and ship the features that accelerate BESS deployment.
What You'll Bring
3–6 years in product management, technical program management, product or hardware development, or a closely related role.
Direct experience in the battery storage space as an engineer, PM, or developer, with working fluency in co-optimization and how batteries generate value across capacity and energy markets.
Hands-on familiarity with AI agents and AI-enabled workflows. You've used them, and ideally built with them, to automate meaningful work.
Builder instincts: comfort prototyping, leveraging AI for accelerated delivery, and shipping rather than only specifying.
Strong written communication, whether a tight PRD, a clear competitive brief, or a well-structured strategy memo.
Comfort with ambiguity, the ability to drive decisions with incomplete information, and structured, analytical thinking that holds up with engineers on system-level questions.
Uncommonly driven to succeed and maniacally self-initiated.
Nice to Have
Hands-on experience with BESS procurement, project development, or system integration.
Familiarity with wholesale market mechanics and interconnection (ERCOT, CAISO, PJM, NYISO), utility tariffs, or inverter/EMS integration.
Background at an early-stage or high-growth startup; exposure to demand response, VPPs, DERMS, or energy-market software.
Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs
About Voltus
Voltus represents the "potential of us" to better manage energy through simple, cost-free energy management products. Our commercial and industrial customers generate cash by allowing us to be their energy expert while we deliver innovative energy management. We are a remote-by-design company, which enables us to hire the best candidate without geographic limitations. We hire teammates who are bright, gritty, and good and who have a genuine passion for delivering a cleaner energy future and for working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The Role
Voltus has an immediate opening for an enterprising Senior Manager of Regulatory Affairs who is hungry to use policy development, regulatory process, law, relationship building, and a deep fighting spirit to advocate for distributed energy resources at the federal, state, and wholesale market level. The Regulatory team is responsible for advocating for policies that fairly reward innovative energy technologies for the services they provide. This wholesale market regulatory expert will help the team’s work to decarbonize, decentralize, and disrupt the energy sector.
You have a fierce intellectual curiosity and desire to make things work, logically and functionally. You are a creative thinker, and can incorporate ideas across a variety of disciplines through your excellent communication skills. You are self-motivated but collaborative, longing to work in an environment that constantly asks you to learn and give your very best, and with an unparalleled desire to advocate for innovative policies to galvanize our clean energy future. You're an energy nerd (or have a desire to become one!) and want to disrupt the status quo by working hard and having fun while doing it. You must be a successful relationship builder, policy advocate, and able to use the right combination of “sugar and vinegar". Last but not least, you are Bright, Gritty, and Good, and can function well in a fast-paced, virtual environment.
The successful candidate will initially work closely with the Chief Regulatory Officer, but will take on increasingly independent responsibility. This position is an opportunity to take on as much responsibility as you want.
Voltus is a remote company and employees can work from any location in the US or Canada. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location. You can expect moderate travel (up to 20%).
Key Responsibilities
- Intervene in state regulatory proceedings to provide comments and other advocacy pleadings supporting the company positions.
- Advocate company positions before staff and other stakeholders at state commission meetings, ISO/RTO stakeholder committee meetings, other forums and at FERC.
- Track initiatives (rulemakings, proposed tariff changes, etc.) in 2-3 wholesale electric markets, participate in stakeholder meetings in those markets and identify and advocate for positions supportive of the company’s business.
- Coordinate closely with the Voltus Energy Markets team on all advocacy and regulatory policy work in wholesale markets and at the state commission level.
- Determine a course of action when necessary, whether individually or by working with trade associations, to influence initiatives and collectively advocate for change.
- Be a public advocate and spokesperson on behalf of the company’s interests, by participating in stakeholder meetings, drafting comments, and meeting with critical players (e.g., Commissioners, RTO employees).
- Master our business by working across the organization ( Energy Markets, Operations, Engineering, Sales, Finance) and use that knowledge in advocacy.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory commission(er)s, federal agencies and officials, state energy officials and legislators, ISO/RTOs, environmental groups, consumer, and trade associations.
- After 3-6 months of onboarding, manage your responsibilities with limited oversight from the Chief Regulatory Officer.
Required Qualifications
- 4-5 years experience in energy policy or regulation, with clear, successful outcomes from direct advocacy.
- A JD (desired) or other graduate degree required.
- Excellent writing skills. You will operate at times as essentially a one-person law firm, and must be able to draft regulatory filings when necessary.
- Excellent oral communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work with industry and stakeholder partners to grow and/or defend the overall market for distributed energy resources.
- Excellent project management skills. Must be incredibly efficient while also exercising judgment in allocating limited resources.
- Ability to effectively marshal knowledge across a variety of disciplines (engineering, energy markets, finance) and distill it to concise, understandable verbal and written communications.
- Comfort with measurable performance metrics and results-driven accountability.
PLEASE SUBMIT A WRITING SAMPLE WITH YOUR APPLICATION. Ideally comments or pleadings of some kind that you have filed with either a state commission, FERC or at an ISO/RTO. If that’s not possible, please submit another writing sample.
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).

Sales Director PJM
Voltus builds power capacity at scale. We provide reliable, clean capacity alongside traditional power plants in wholesale electricity markets. As load growth accelerates, the grid is confronting structural constraints. Speed-to-power and affordability are no longer secondary considerations; they are foundational to economic growth.
Voltus enables faster, cleaner, lower-cost capacity by optimizing existing infrastructure rather than waiting years for new generation to come online. Our sales team builds the customer relationships that make this possible, working directly with the facilities, manufacturers, and institutions whose participation adds capacity to the grid.
The Role
Voltus is seeking a Sales Director for the PJM territory to build and grow a book of commercial and industrial customers across the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes region.
Demand response is no longer a niche program. As load growth strains grid infrastructure and wholesale electricity markets evolve, the value of flexible, distributed capacity is increasing. This role puts you at the center of that shift, working directly with the facilities, manufacturers, and institutions whose participation translates into real grid capacity and real revenue for their organizations.
The right candidate does not wait for inbound leads or a warm introduction. They pick up the phone, learn the market, and build their pipeline from scratch. Energy background is not required. The ability to sell consultatively to operational and financial buyers is.
This is a remote role. Candidates must be based in the United States, with a preference for candidates located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, or New Jersey. Some travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and generate your own pipeline through outbound cold calling, email outreach, and self-sourced lead development across the territory
Own the full sales cycle from initial cold call through contract close on net-new accounts
Build and manage relationships with Facility Managers, Operations leaders, and financial decision makers at hospitals, universities, large manufacturers, and municipalities
Educate prospective customers on Voltus’s demand response programs and translate grid economics into operational and financial value for each account
Meet activity-based expectations in Q1 and transition into quota-carrying performance from Q2 onward
Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasting, and deal activity in CRM
Collaborate with your Regional Sales Manager and peer SDs to share market intelligence, refine outreach strategy, and improve close rates over time
Desired Qualifications
Proven track record of self-generated outbound prospecting and closing net-new business. Phone-based cold calling is core to how this team builds pipeline, and candidates whose experience is limited to managing a handed book of business are not a fit for this role.
Experience selling into commercial and industrial accounts. Existing relationships with hospital groups, universities, large manufacturers, or municipalities in the region are a strong plus.
Energy industry background is not required. Some of our best performers came from outside the space, but familiarity with energy markets, brokers, or C&I energy buyers accelerates ramp.
Coachable and feedback-oriented, with a long-term mindset. Year one is a ramp, but the renewal commission structure means your book grows significantly in years two and three.
Comfortable with self-direction in Q1. Activity metrics drive the first quarter rather than quota.
Utility Partnerships Director
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. Our commercial and industrial customers, along with our residential and grid services partners generate revenue by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets. Our product - developed to help solve the greatest problem of our time, the climate crisis - is tested and proven, and we have moved from startup to significant (and rapid) growth stage. At Voltus, we live by the mantra "doing well by doing good" - and that includes actively doing our best by our team, clients and partners.
The Role
Voltus is seeking a Utilities Partnerships Director to build and grow relationships with utilities across North America as we expand our addressable market into a segment we have not formally served before.
Utilities need additional capacity and are thinking about demand response as part of their supply strategy like never before. Voltus has achieved the scale, tools, and team to support utilities in their need for reliable, affordable capacity. This role exists to unlock that opportunity, opening new markets, developing new programs, and building a function from the ground up.
The right candidate understands how utilities think, has navigated complex partnership and program development cycles, and knows how to move from a first conversation to a signed contract in a relationship-driven, long-cycle environment. Experience working at a utility or selling to utilities is a must. This is an individual contributor role with significant room to grow into leading a team as the function scales.
This is a remote role. Candidates must be based in the United States.
Responsibilities
Build and manage relationships with utilities across North America, calling on Directors of Strategic Energy Resources, Directors of Demand Response, and Managing Directors of Customer Load Management among others.
Identify and pursue opportunities for Voltus to provide utilities with capacity through demand response and battery deployment as well as wholesale market participation to add additional value to their current demand responses programs.
Build relationships with key stakeholders at utilities to help shape their thinking about demand response. Respond to utility RFIs and RFPs, and work to refine and improve Voltus's approach to RFP and RFI responses over time. Strategically work through ecosystem partners to position Voltus as part of a complete solution.
Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, Energy Markets, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Marketing to pitch Voltus as part of a complete, winning solution for utility partners and execute on program delivery. Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders across large organizations.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity. This role requires someone who can figure out what utilities need and how Voltus can best serve them, not someone who needs a fully defined playbook on day one.

The Role
Voltus is seeking a Residential Business Development Director to build and grow relationships with residential distributed energy resource partners across North America as we expand our virtual power plant network into the residential segment. Forty percent of electrical load is residential, and more residential loads are electrifying, from EVs to heating, with residential battery costs coming down to enable backing up the whole home load. This role exists to capture that opportunity, recruiting more megawatts of residential load into Voltus VPP programs through partnerships with companies that have flexible residential assets. The right candidate understands how residential DER companies think, has experience managing complex partnership and program development cycles, and knows how to move from a first conversation to a signed contract to a live program. This is an individual contributor role with real room to grow as the function develops.
This is a remote role. Candidates must be based in the United States.

Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders across large organizations.
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Exceptional analytical skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work product.
Ability to self-initiate and thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity. This role requires someone who can figure out what residential partners need and how Voltus can best serve them, not someone who needs a fully defined playbook on day one.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with internal teams to develop proposals and programs.
Experience with Google Suite, Salesforce, and Slack preferred.
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).
