Associate Product Manager

The Role

Voltus is looking for an Associate Product Manager to help us deliver new products that allow our customers to be smarter energy consumers and earn cash with their Distributed Energy Resources (DERs). In this role you will be responsible for working closely with Product Managers to establish roadmaps, with Design and Engineering to execute on ongoing initiatives, as well as leveraging data to uncover opportunities to deliver exceptional value to our customers at scale.

You are an enthusiastic right-brain communicator, with extremely strong left-brain technical capability. You love sketching out detailed user stories, user personas, and technical specs. You gobble up user research and product analytics, pushing us to become even more data-driven than we already are. You are eager to work with some of the smartest software engineers out there, and to learn from and collaborate with them and other Bright, Gritty, and Good colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Learn the role of demand response and distributed energy resources in energy markets
  • Provide data-driven prioritization of stakeholder needs, explained in simple and transparent terms
  • Work closely with Product Managers to maintain a product backlog
  • Own the entirety of issue and idea management for your areas of product focus
  • Contribute to the entire product development process, from user research to detailed documentation to making sure the product gets out the door on time
  • Work closely with Engineering to write technical scopes and documentation
  • Manage the day-to-day efforts of ongoing initiatives, from managing standups, to triaging bugs, to providing project updates to the organization

Qualifications

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and software technologies
  • Experience gathering user feedback and advocating on their behalf
  • Ability to distill data into actionable insights
  • Equally strong written and verbal communication skills

Product Manager

The Role

Voltus is looking for a Product Manager to help us “simplify the complex” by building product that lets users self-serve on tasks that are normally complicated. In this role, you will be responsible for driving innovation, collaborating with a wide variety of stakeholders to understand and document key business requirements, establishing roadmaps, and prioritizing software development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the role of demand response and distributed energy resources in energy markets, including following trends in the industry to assess their value or threat
  • Contribute to the entire product development process, from scoping to detailed documentation to wireframe design to making sure the product gets out the door on time
  • Work cross-functionally to build consensus on product scope. Define and refine business requirements with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Write technical scope of work and documentation, working collaboratively with engineering
  • Own the creative process of gathering, generating, and curating new ideas and user feedback, ultimately turning them into product priorities
  • Articulate and quantify the business value of any new product or feature
  • Provide data-driven prioritization of stakeholder needs, explained in simple and transparent terms
  • Help develop and grow our burgeoning product development and management processes

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated history of developing and launching B2B SaaS products
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts and software technologies
  • Ability to step into various user personas and be their advocate
  • Self-initiated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment, and manage several products simultaneously
  • Equally strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in agile, team environment

Senior Manager, Product Partnerships

We’re seeking an individual motivated by our mission with a deep understanding of the energy space to join our Product Partnerships team in leading the development of strategic partnerships with distributed energy resources (DERs) of all types, including electric vehicles, energy storage, and controllable loads. Key Responsibilities

  • Create and execute commercial agreements that enable revenue streams for partners, customers, and end users.
  • Prospect, present proposals, negotiate, and close business.  
  • Report on all sales activities through Voltus’s CRM systems. 
  • Master the competitive landscape. Collaborate with our Marketing team on outreach and competitive positioning. 
  • Articulate and quantify the business value of any new product or feature request.
  • Improve our product offerings.  Identify and define product partner needs, and provide feedback to our team.

About You

  • Demonstrated history of developing and selling B2B energy products and services 
  • Experience navigating partnerships through complex negotiations and contract structuring
  • Self-initiated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment
  • Experience with business model development and P&L management
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional leadership skills
  • Knowledge of the electric grid systems, markets, and technologies
  • Bonus: Experience in EVs and infrastructure, energy storage, demand response and energy efficiency
