Responsibilities for this role:
- Develop scalable quantitative risk models and automated tooling to inform market positioning strategies for energy commodities
- Create analysis tools to statistically weight possible outcomes of various positions as well as associated risks
- Support research into energy markets to identify and model key long-term supply and demand drivers for energy market products
- Recommend risk management strategies based on research outcomes, and develop processes for implementation of such strategies across Voltus’s energy market portfolios
Key Requirements:
- Desire to become an expert in understanding the role of demand-side resources in energy markets
- Background in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, or Engineering is required; MBA experience is preferred
- Proficient in Python, R, Matlab or similar, as well as SQL and Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, risk management strategies, and statistical/probabilistic modeling.
- Previous experience in energy markets, trading, or market analysis is highly desirable, but not required

Key Requirements
- Desire to become an expert in understanding the role of demand-side resources in energy markets
- Support the identification and evaluation of market opportunities by conducting regulatory and market research, tackling open-ended questions, and summarizing findings succinctly
- Assist with project management and execution of market activities including registrations, dispatches and settlements.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented IT Intern to join our lean, high-performing IT team. This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in enterprise IT operations, supporting a 250-person remote organization across multiple time zones. You will work directly with our Senior IT Manager and collaborate closely with our Systems Administrators to deliver exceptional IT service delivery and support our company's data retention governance initiatives.

Responsibilities and Duties
The IT Intern will be responsible for supporting IT operations and service desk functions, with a focus on delivering excellent user experience and supporting critical governance initiatives.
IT Operations & Service Desk
- Provide first and second-level technical support for Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Slack, JumpCloud, and other enterprise applications to remote employees across multiple time zones.
- Manage incident tickets through Zendesk ticketing system (Support module), ensuring proper documentation, prioritization, and timely resolution according to ITIL incident management best practices.
- Process service requests including user provisioning, access management, and application configuration changes following established service request management workflows.
- Support employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including account creation/deactivation, device assignment, and access reviews.
- Assist with IT asset management activities using AssetSonar, including device tracking, lifecycle management, and inventory accuracy.

Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of technology and commercial contracts including SaaS agreements, partner, and vendor contracts

Desired Qualifications

Sales Director (CAISO)
The Company
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. Our commercial and industrial customers and grid services partners generate cash by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets.
The Role
The Sales Director is driven to generate cash for customers while fulfilling the promise of the energy transition. This role requires a balance of “hunter” and “farmer” skills, focusing on the sale of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) optimization services and demand response programs, and comprehensive account management for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted customer advisor, managing the entire sales lifecycle, and collaborate cross-functionally to develop, propose, and close business opportunities that maximize an asset’s or facility’s operational flexibility to generate cash and unlock bill savings while enhancing grid reliability.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver against a quota to get more cash and better energy for our customers
- Prospect, present proposals, negotiate, and close business
- Report on all sales activities through Voltus’s CRM systems
- Collaborate closely with internal engineering-, product-, and energy markets teams to develop technically viable and economically attractive battery optimization service proposals
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers at customer accounts to ensure high customer satisfaction and customer retention
- Continually make us a better company
Desired Skills
- College degree (engineering undergrad degree or MBA preferred)
- Industry knowledge: understanding of BESS technology, demand response programs, utility rate structures, and/or the overall energy market landscape
- Demonstrated history of developing and selling B2B energy products and services, with 3-10 years B2B sales experience
- Ability to develop, negotiate and close customized deals effectively
- Technology minded, with the ability to explain high-tech info to a variety of audiences
- Time management, prioritization, and the ability to self-motivate
- Excellent cross-functional leadership skills
- Dedicated to giving and receiving feedback in all directions for the good of each teammate and the organization
- Top-notch communication - in person, written and presentations
- Experience with tools like PowerPoint, Salesforce, Google Suite
Compensation
- $110,000 base salary
- $40,000 - $125,000 additional variable OTE compensation
- Uncapped commissions w/residual payments
