Energy Markets Manager
The Role
Voltus is the leading DER technology platform and virtual power plant operator, connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets to deliver less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. We hire teammates who are bright, gritty, and good, with a genuine passion for a cleaner energy future.
MISO is one of our fastest growing markets, and we're looking for a Manager to help lead that charge. MISO is the frontier of our industry today, and this role means embracing ambiguity and uncharted territory as the market matures around us.
You'll serve as a key relationship-builder and figurehead for our MISO strategy, working directly with utilities, grid operators, and policymakers to track and react to changing market design. You'll synthesize what those changes mean for our existing customers, new deals, product roadmap, and sales approach, and communicate that clearly across the org. This is a high-visibility, cross-functional role where relationship building, project management, and the judgment to prioritize matter more than day-to-day operational or dispatch management experience.
Responsibilities
Share ownership of our MISO book. Be accountable for the revenue and profitability of our MISO DER portfolio: including financial modeling, forecasting, customer settlement, capacity position management, and performance optimization.
Do everything in your power to make sure Voltus delivers on our commitments to grid operators: maintain rigorous compliance with the MISO Tariff and take all steps necessary to ensure our DER portfolio is ready to perform at 100% when called upon.
Be the eyes, ears, and voice on market design. Work directly with MISO and other RTO/ISO staff to track and give feedback on evolving market rules; translate what's changing into clear implications for customers, Product, and the rest of the Voltus team.
Build and maintain external relationships. Develop and sustain relationships with MISO staff, utility representatives, and DER/technology partners; use those relationships to move things forward for Voltus and represent us well externally.
Manage and develop people. Directly manage a small team, delegate effectively, coach, and grow their skills while staying close enough to the work to unblock them.
Lead cross-functionally. Act as a general project manager across Sales, Product, Engineering, and Operations. Your goal is to bring groups together, driving decisions, and keeping initiatives on track without waiting for someone else to own it.
Prioritize ruthlessly and adaptively. Know when something needs to happen now versus when it can wait, and be willing to change course quickly as market conditions or priorities shift.
Grow the portfolio by guiding our regional sales strategy, directly supporting new VIP sales, and onboarding new asset types and programs.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in energy markets, demand response, or a closely related field.
A track record of effectively managing a team.
A natural relationship-builder with real charisma. You build trust quickly with internal and external teams, communicating effectively in both directions.
Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills. Preference for experience with SQL and/or Python.
Excellent cross-functional project management instincts. You can coordinate across teams, delegate effectively, and drive ambiguous initiatives to resolution.
Gritty. You've done hard things, and you're not afraid to put in the work. You’re energized by ambiguity and a fast-changing market landscape.
You don't need hands-on dispatch or ops management experience, we're prioritizing market and relationship instincts here.
Bonus experiences: managing or onboarding battery storage assets, experience working directly with an RTO/ISO (MISO experience a strong plus)
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).
Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.

Senior Salesforce Administrator
Voltus is hiring a Sr. Salesforce Administrator to help drive the productivity and operational effectiveness of our Go-to-Market organization. Reporting to the Director of Sales Operations, you'll take ownership of Salesforce administration end-to-end — from hands-on configuration to system governance — while partnering closely with our current administrator and with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success stakeholders.
This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to bring deep Salesforce expertise to a mission-driven clean energy company. We're looking for someone who is not just a power user, but a strategic thinker who can translate business needs into scalable Salesforce solutions.

Own the day-to-day administration of Salesforce, including user management, roles/profiles, permission sets, sharing rules, custom objects, page layouts, custom/formula fields, and validation rules
Design, build, and maintain Salesforce Flows and other automation to streamline processes across Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Success
Partner and knowledge-share with the existing Salesforce administrator, providing guidance & code/config review
Manage the Salesforce release lifecycle, including sandbox environments, testing, and safe deployment of changes to production

Own and administer the broader Go-to-Market tech stack, including all of the integrations to Salesforce — handling mass updates, ad-hoc reporting, and troubleshooting
Helping define the AI strategy within our given tech stack – which tools should we invest in AI capabilities in and where can we use AI to automate processes
Partner with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, then propose and implement Salesforce-native solutions
Build and maintain standardized and ad-hoc reports and dashboards; train users on self-service reporting
Monitor data quality and lead deduplication, cleanup, and enrichment initiatives
Evaluate and manage integrations between Salesforce and other tools in the GTM stack (e.g., marketing automation, CPQ, data enrichment tools)

Maintain clear, well-organized documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps

Director of Product Marketing
Voltus is the leading DER technology platform and virtual power plant operator connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. Our commercial and industrial customers and DER partners generate cash by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets.
Position Description
Voltus is seeking a Director of Product Marketing to own product-market fit for our platform. You'll sit close to the product organization, help shape our roadmap, and bring customer and market insight directly into product decisions. You'll own positioning and lead features from idea through launch, focusing on major product launches rather than day-to-day campaign execution.
You'll start as an individual contributor with the opportunity to build and lead a small product marketing team as the function grows.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in the energy space, ideally B2B, and has marketed to a broad, non-technical buyer base similar to our commercial and industrial customers. You're comfortable getting into the details with product and engineering, and just as skilled at translating that complexity into language a broad, non-expert audience can understand. You use AI tools to extend your own output and move faster.
Responsibilities
- Own product-market fit: embed with the product organization, understand the roadmap, and represent the voice of the customer and market in product decisions
- Build and own core product positioning and messaging
- Build a repeatable launch playbook and lead launches for major product features, end to end
- Partner with sales to enable the team on new products and positioning
- Translate complex product and market detail into clear, compelling stories for a broad audience
- Use AI tools to increase your own output and move quickly
- Build and lead a small product marketing team as the function grows
Skills
- Experience in the energy space strongly preferred, B2B background required
- Experience marketing to a broad, non-technical buyer base similar to commercial and industrial customers
- Proven track record building product positioning, launch playbooks, and sales enablement
- Strong storytelling and positioning skills; able to simplify complexity for a non-expert audience
- Comfortable directing AI tools to increase personal output and productivity
- Ready to operate as an individual contributor now, with the ability to build and lead a team over time
- Comfortable working across US time zones and traveling for events, conferences, and sales meetings
At Voltus, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer because we recognize that a diverse organization begins with a diverse candidate pool. This means we do not tolerate discrimination of any kind and are committed to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of your gender identity, race, nationality, religion, age, sexual orientation, veteran status, disability status, or marital status.
Sales Productivity Specialist
Voltus is growing rapidly, and we see Sales Productivity as a critical role to capitalize on that growth. We are looking for someone to proactively partner with sales leaders and their teams to drive efficiency and productivity in both day-to-day and strategic tasks. The primary purpose of this role is to act as the leading edge of growth across the sales organization by maximizing sales team productivity at scale. We do this through innovative solutioning, best-in-class activation, strategic thought partnership, and consistent high standards of execution. This is a fully remote position that offers a high degree of autonomy.
We're looking for people who don't just execute on a project, but who define and own it independently, and who bring new ideas rather than replicate what's already been done. This team is meant to be an innovation engine for Sales, and we want people who think that way.
Sales Productivity Specialist Job Responsibilities:
- Own and coordinate BESS go-to-market readiness across Product, Energy Markets, Sales, and other teams, managing timelines and senior stakeholders to the decisions that activate the market
- Improve the process from proposal to customer agreement at scale, including enhancements to our CRM and contract management workflows (Ironclad)
- Scale BESS knowledge across the sales organization through FAQs, one-pagers, and sales strategy, and become a subject matter expert on the offering, messaging, deal structures, and the assumptions behind our targets
- Drive pipeline velocity from lead through proposal, LOI, ESA, and implementation, including onboarding for new sellers
- Build a single source of truth for BESS pipeline reporting with Sales leadership, including post-sale progress tracking
- Proactively spot patterns, propose solutions, and execute improvements, such as new tools and resources, reporting, pipeline review accountability, and unsticking deals
- Build leading indicators and pacing targets so we can see early whether we're on track for our commitments, and flag risks and mobilize resources when assumptions slip
- Provide back-office support that removes friction for sellers, including serving as a functional owner and expert for the team in Ironclad and improving deal data quality, renewals, and process hygiene
- Partner closely with the Partnerships team and sales leaders on training content and ramp milestones for new sellers
Sales Productivity Skills and Qualifications
- Experience in GTM or sales, ideally first-hand B2B sales, sales development, or another customer-facing role where you carried a number
- Strong instincts for root cause discovery and data validation
- A track record of landing improvements, not just launching them
- Experience with holistic go-to-market planning and activation
- Excellent project management and change management skills, including leading cross-functional work without direct authority
- Comfort managing senior stakeholders and getting decisions made on a timeline
- A balance of market intelligence and data-driven decision making
- Comfort working in a CRM (Salesforce experience a plus, not required)
- Excel wizard required; Python or SQL a bonus
- Extreme attention to detail and a self-initiated approach
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Aligned with our company values: Bright, Gritty, and Good
- Experience with contract management tools (such as Ironclad) is a plus
- MBA preferred
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers.

Senior Market Operations Analyst
The Role
Voltus is hiring a Senior Market Operations Analyst to own the operational success of our most strategic markets, at a moment when the stakes for that work have never been higher. We're absorbing new responsibilities from our Energy Markets team, and we're gearing up for a major expansion of our Bring Your Own Capacity(BYOC) business across MISO and PJM. Both mean more surface area for Market Operations to own, and we need a senior analyst who can move fast into that space.
This role is built for someone who takes total ownership of their responsibilities, doesn't settle for a surface-level understanding of a problem, and can reason from first principles to become a subject matter expert fast. You generate your own priorities without waiting to be told what to do next, because the environment moves too quickly for anyone to hand you a fully-formed playbook.
The work matters beyond Voltus. Markets and ratepayers depend on us every day to deliver energy that is reliable, affordable, and clean.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Market Operations Analyst, you will:
Own your markets' operational success, whether you execute the work yourself, coordinate it across the team, or automate it. You're accountable for availability and offers, interval data collection, performance calculations, and every enrollment and post-event deadline, on time and without material error. Expect occasional night or weekend work during busy periods or new product launches.
Deliver high-stakes, high-visibility analyses that move revenue, the kind of work that directly shapes how much we get paid in a market and how competitive our value proposition is there. Expect this kind of work often, not occasionally.
Grow quickly from hands-on execution into owning outcomes, whether that means doing the work yourself, guiding teammates through it, or eventually managing junior analysts who report to you.
Lead the build-out of new programs and product capabilities, including transforming our OR/PR programs to support batteries and standing up new program launches in SPP.
Be the subject matter expert for your markets, advising Product, Engineering, and Sales on complex market details.
Lead ambiguous decisions where no SOP exists yet, and drive root cause analysis on incidents, building durable fixes rather than one-off workarounds.
What Success Looks Like
In your first six months, we'll build a competency matrix defining what strong performance looks like at each stage of growth for your major responsibilities. You'll start at the Senior Analyst level, and we'll check in against the matrix regularly as you ramp and grow within it.
Beyond that, you're measured in two ways: an always-on standard of no compliance violations or lost revenue from process errors, and project-based goals scoped individually, with a clear definition of what it takes to score a 3, 4, or 5 out of 5. For this role specifically, we expect you to grow quickly into leading larger initiatives like the OR/PR and SPP work above.
Qualifications
This role is genuinely ambiguous day to day. Priorities shift with little notice, SOPs often don't exist yet, and you're expected to build the process, not just follow one. If you've thrived in a heavily structured, procedure-driven environment, such as a utility or a trading desk, that structure is exactly what won't be here, and this role will likely feel disorienting rather than exciting. We're looking for someone who has already worked this way and found it energizing, not someone hoping to adapt to it.
4+ years in a role where you personally owned business-critical outcomes in an environment with minimal process scaffolding: you were expected to define your own approach, not execute against an existing playbook. Energy or clean tech experience is a plus, but not required.
Strong, demonstrable Python skills used to automate real operational workflows, not just analyze data. You should be comfortable describing a specific process you automated end to end to solve an operational problem. This isn't a software engineering role, so we're not looking for production-grade code, just someone who reaches for automation instead of doing repetitive work manually. SQL is a nice-to-have, not a requirement.
A track record of taking a complex, multifaceted situation and distilling it into a clear, actionable strategy, with concrete examples you can walk through and their business impact.
Genuine, specific alignment with Voltus' mission of accelerating the clean energy transition. We're looking for evidence of this beyond a resume line.
A collaborative teammate who delivers feedback kindly, has coached or mentored others, and is excited by eventually guiding junior teammates.
Able to begin work by 8 AM Central Time.
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers.
Customer Success Associate
Voltus represents the potential of us to better manage energy through simple, cost and risk-free demand response programs. Our commercial and industrial customers earn cash by letting us maximize the value of their operational flexibility in energy markets. We hire people who are bright, gritty, and good, who care about a cleaner energy future, and who want to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
The Role
As a Customer Success Associate, you get new customer sites into the energy market and ready to perform so they start earning. You own the project management of onboarding from signed contract to a live site, which means keeping data collection, registrations, hardware installation, and testing moving across Sales, Field Engineering, Market Operations, and Dispatch Operations. Our goal is to get sites live in under 100 days. You are the main point of contact for the customer along the way, and you set expectations early about what participating in the program will actually ask of their site team.
Onboarding is where you start, not where you stop. You stay on as part of the account team for as long as the customer is with us, supporting dispatch events, registrations, and seasonal updates. Sales Directors own the commercial relationship and renewals, and this role has no quota. You’ll be assigned to a regional sales team of about four Sales Directors and may support more than one market.
What You'll Do
Run onboarding projects end to end and keep every site’s status current and visible
Work day to day with site contacts, operations leads, and energy champions on curtailment plans, documentation, and installation
Hand off cleanly to and from Sales, Field Engineering, Market Ops, and Dispatch Ops so nothing stalls between teams
Support customers through dispatch events and follow up when a site underperforms
Spot the sticking points in onboarding and fix them, whether that’s a better handoff, a clearer template, or a tighter way of tracking
What makes someone great at this
2+ years in a customer-facing role like customer success, onboarding or implementation, account management, or project management
A track record of owning projects with many moving parts and many stakeholders, and keeping them organized and current
Comfort being the face of the company to customers, including setting expectations that aren’t always what they hoped to hear
Persistence and diplomacy when you need people on other teams to move without having authority over them
A habit of improving the process instead of just working inside it
Real excitement about this role as it is, not as a stepping stone, and a genuine interest in the energy transition
Experience in Salesforce or a similar CRM, plus Google Workspace and Excel
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).
Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.
Technical Recruiter
About the Role
Voltus is hiring a Technical Recruiter to own full-cycle recruiting for our Engineering and Product teams. This is a builder's role: you'll partner directly with engineering leadership to define hiring needs, build sourcing pipelines from scratch, and run a rigorous, fast-moving interview process. We're not looking for someone who waits for inbound applicants to come to us. We need someone who goes and finds the right people.
You'll work closely with our VP of Engineering and engineering leadership to fill roles ranging from generalist backend engineers to highly specialized positions in optimization and control systems, and you'll help us build a stronger, more diverse pipeline as we scale.
What You'll Do
Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering and product roles, from intake through offer, with autonomy to run your own process
Build and execute outbound sourcing strategies rather than relying on inbound volume; proactively source top talent from other companies, not just from those with direct energy industry backgrounds
Partner directly with hiring managers and leadership across engineering and product to build clear, well-scoped job specs, and hold the line on that bar throughout the process
Move quickly and decisively once a strong candidate is identified; keep momentum through the process without unnecessary delay
Build sourcing strategies that specifically expand candidate diversity, including piloting relationships with specialized talent networks
Assess technical and product candidates for role-relevant thinking and problem-solving ability, not just resume pattern-matching to industry experience
Bring a point of view on where domain (energy/cleantech) experience genuinely matters for a role versus where transferable skill is enough
Act as a strategic partner to engineering and product leadership on hiring strategy, not just an order-taker executing reqs as they come in
What We're Looking For
Proven full-cycle technical recruiting experience, ideally from an agency, search firm, or high-growth environment where you operated with ownership over your own book of business
Strong, demonstrated outbound sourcing skill; comfortable building pipelines without relying on inbound applicant flow
Experience sourcing through technical-specific channels like GitHub, Stack Overflow, or developer communities is a plus
A direct, assertive communication style; comfortable pushing back on hiring managers, challenging unclear specs, and holding firm to hiring criteria even under internal pressure
Comfort operating in ambiguity, in a company still defining what "great" looks like for its talent function
Experience recruiting for both technical (engineering) and product roles is a plus; we're open to strong generalist technical recruiters who can flex across both
No specific energy, cleantech, or utilities background required; what matters more is the ability to evaluate technical fit and think through hiring like the hiring manager would
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires.
Sr Sales Director PJM
Voltus builds power capacity at scale. We provide reliable, clean capacity alongside traditional power plants in wholesale electricity markets. As load growth accelerates, the grid is confronting structural constraints. Speed-to-power and affordability are no longer secondary considerations; they are foundational to economic growth.
Voltus enables faster, cleaner, lower-cost capacity by optimizing existing infrastructure rather than waiting years for new generation to come online. Our sales team builds the customer relationships that make this possible, working directly with the facilities, manufacturers, and institutions whose participation adds capacity to the grid.
The Role
Voltus is seeking a Sr Sales Director for the PJM territory to build and grow a book of commercial and industrial customers across the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes region.
Demand response is no longer a niche program. As load growth strains grid infrastructure and wholesale electricity markets evolve, the value of flexible, distributed capacity is increasing. This role puts you at the center of that shift, working directly with the facilities, manufacturers, and institutions whose participation translates into real grid capacity and real revenue for their organizations.
The right candidate does not wait for inbound leads or a warm introduction. They pick up the phone, learn the market, and build their pipeline from scratch. Energy background is not required. The ability to sell consultatively to operational and financial buyers is.
This is a remote role. Candidates must be based in the United States, with a preference for candidates located in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Virginia, Maryland, or New Jersey. Some travel required.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and generate your own pipeline through outbound cold calling, email outreach, and self-sourced lead development across the territory
Own the full sales cycle from initial cold call through contract close on net-new accounts
Build and manage relationships with Facility Managers, Operations leaders, and financial decision makers at hospitals, universities, large manufacturers, and municipalities
Educate prospective customers on Voltus’s demand response programs and translate grid economics into operational and financial value for each account
Meet activity-based expectations in Q1 and transition into quota-carrying performance from Q2 onward
Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasting, and deal activity in CRM
Collaborate with your Regional Sales Manager and peer SDs to share market intelligence, refine outreach strategy, and improve close rates over time
Desired Qualifications
Proven track record of self-generated outbound prospecting and closing net-new business. Phone-based cold calling is core to how this team builds pipeline, and candidates whose experience is limited to managing a handed book of business are not a fit for this role.
Experience selling into commercial and industrial accounts. Existing relationships with hospital groups, universities, large manufacturers, or municipalities in the region are a strong plus.
Energy industry background is not required. Some of our best performers came from outside the space, but familiarity with energy markets, brokers, or C&I energy buyers accelerates ramp.
Coachable and feedback-oriented, with a long-term mindset. Year one is a ramp, but the renewal commission structure means your book grows significantly in years two and three.
Comfortable with self-direction in Q1. Activity metrics drive the first quarter rather than quota.

Residential Business Development Director
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering less expensive, more reliable, and more sustainable electricity. Our commercial and industrial customers, along with our residential and grid services partners generate revenue by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources in these markets. Our product - developed to help solve the greatest problem of our time, the climate crisis - is tested and proven, and we have moved from startup to significant (and rapid) growth stage. At Voltus, we live by the mantra "doing well by doing good" - and that includes actively doing our best by our team, clients and partners.
The Role
Voltus is seeking a Residential Business Development Director to build and grow relationships with residential distributed energy resource partners across North America as we expand our virtual power plant network into the residential segment. Forty percent of electrical load is residential, and more residential loads are electrifying, from EVs to heating, with residential battery costs coming down to enable backing up the whole home load. This role exists to capture that opportunity, recruiting more megawatts of residential load into Voltus VPP programs through partnerships with companies that have flexible residential assets. The right candidate understands how residential DER companies think, has experience managing complex partnership and program development cycles, and knows how to move from a first conversation to a signed contract to a live program. This is an individual contributor role with real room to grow as the function develops.
This is a remote role. Candidates must be based in the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage new relationships with residential DER partners across North America, calling on VPs of Grid Services, Directors of Market Development, Chief Revenue Officers, Senior VPs of VPP, Strategy Managers, VPs of Growth, and VPs of New Products and Business.
Deepen relationships with existing partners and work with them to sell and launch new programs in additional territories and with new asset types.
Find sustainable business models that balance consumer acquisition fees with profitability for partners and Voltus while incentivizing growth.
Work cross-functionally with Partnerships, Energy Markets, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and Marketing to pitch Voltus as part of a complete, winning solution for residential partners.
Own the full sales cycle from initial outreach through relationship development, contract negotiation, program launch, and ongoing account management.
Attend industry conferences and in-person meetings to build relationships and represent Voltus to residential partners.
Share learnings and progress internally on an ongoing basis to help Voltus refine its residential offerings and competitive positioning.
Desired Qualifications
5 to 10 years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales in the energy industry.
Experience working at a residential DER OEM, DERMS, VPP platform, or demand response company strongly preferred.
Familiarity with wholesale electricity markets, demand response programs, and how residential assets participate in those markets is preferred.
Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders across large organizations.
Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
Exceptional analytical skills, including data analysis and financial modeling.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work product.
Ability to self-initiate and thrive in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment.
Comfortable operating in ambiguity. This role requires someone who can figure out what residential partners need and how Voltus can best serve them, not someone who needs a fully defined playbook on day one.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to work closely with internal teams to develop proposals and programs.
Experience with Google Suite, Salesforce, and Slack preferred.
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).

We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.
Sr. Director of Revenue Operations
About the Role
Voltus is building its Revenue Operations function from the ground up, and this role owns that build.
As we enter a hyper-growth phase, the components of revenue operations exist in pieces across the company: reporting handled by one team, forecasting by another, productivity tracked separately within Sales. What's missing is a single owner connecting the full customer journey, from outreach through close through renewal, into one trustworthy source of truth that Sales, Finance, Energy Markets, and our Customer Org can all rely on.
This role differs from a typical RevOps seat in one key way: Voltus doesn't invoice customers directly for fixed contract value. Revenue depends on whether enrolled customers are nominated, enrolled, and actually perform in market events. As a result, forecasting and reporting here means connecting committed contract value to realized, performance-based revenue, a more complex and consequential problem than most revenue operations roles are built to solve.
This role reports to our Senior Director of Sales Enablement, sits within the Sales organization, and carries the mandate to influence how the broader company understands and acts on revenue data.
What You'll Own (Initial Focus)
Full Lifecycle Reporting & Visibility Build the single source of truth for revenue data across the full customer journey — outreach, pipeline, close, onboarding, and renewal — so leadership, Sales, Finance, and the Customer Org are finally looking at the same numbers Own forecasting and reporting that connects committed contract value through enrollment and market performance to realized revenue, partnering closely with Energy Markets and Finance to flag risk before it hits the P&L Move the company from ad hoc, reactive reporting to proactive, standardized insight — surfacing risks and opportunities before leadership has to ask
CRM & Systems Ownership Own CRM pipeline hygiene — stage definitions, probability methodology, and data-quality standards — and hold the team accountable to consistent, trustworthy data Lead the GTM systems roadmap (CRM, forecasting, BI tools) in partnership with IT/Systems
Forecasting & Analytics Own accurate revenue forecasting and pipeline analytics, presenting directly to sales and executive leadership Define and track core RevOps KPIs: win rate, sales cycle length, rep ramp time, pipeline coverage, renewal and expansion rate
Areas to Expand Into
- As you build out the function and prove out the infrastructure above, this role will grow into: Team leadership — building and mentoring a team spanning sales productivity, analytics, and operations Planning infrastructure — headcount modeling, territory design, capacity planning, and quota/comp design as new markets come online Customer health scoring — a shared, proactive view of at-risk and expansion-ready accounts across Sales, Customer Success, and Energy Markets
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years in revenue operations, with 3-5 years at manager/director level or above — someone who has owned the function, not just supported it
- A track record of building revenue reporting infrastructure from scratch, and getting multiple stakeholders to actually trust and use it
- Real financial fluency — you've closed the gap between sales and finance forecasting before
- Experience scaling a company through a real growth inflection
- A genuine B2B, commercial sales-cycle background
- Comfortable presenting to executive leadership and holding your own when they push back
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires.
Battery Sales Director
About Voltus
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering more affordable, reliable, and sustainable power. Our commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, along with our residential and grid services partners, earn revenue by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources. Our product is tested and proven, and we have moved from startup to a stage of significant, rapid growth. We believe in "doing well by doing good," which includes doing right by our team, customers, and partners.
The Role
Voltus is seeking a Battery Sales Director to build and grow a book of battery customers across the Mid-Atlantic and Great Lakes regions. As load growth accelerates, the grid faces structural constraints, and speed-to-power and affordability have become foundational to economic growth. Voltus has a long history of delivering faster, cleaner, lower-cost capacity by optimizing existing infrastructure. Now we are creating even more value by helping customers deploy batteries that cut their energy costs further. In this role, you will develop the customer relationships that make this possible, working directly with the facilities, manufacturers, and institutions that will host batteries on-site to create grid capacity.
Key metrics: MW of battery Letters of Intent (LOIs) signed, MW of Energy Services Agreements (ESAs) signed, and MW of batteries enrolled in market programs.
Key Responsibilities
Generate your own pipeline through outbound calls, email outreach, and self-sourced lead development across the territory
Lead the sales cycle from first call through contract close, working closely with our partnerships team and battery partners.
Build relationships with energy, operations, and finance decision-makers at hospitals, universities, large manufacturers, and municipalities
Educate prospects on Voltus's battery offerings and translate grid economics into operational and financial value for each account
Maintain accurate pipeline data, forecasts, and deal activity in the CRM
Share market intelligence with internal and partner teams, and help refine outreach strategy and improve close rates over time
Who You Are
You understand how C&I customers think and how to help an organization make a complex energy decision quickly. You are customer-focused and detail-oriented over a long sales and development cycle, and you collaborate well with senior stakeholders at customers, partners, and across Voltus. You adapt quickly to change in a dynamic industry. An open mind and grit are essential.
Qualifications
3+ years of quota-carrying B2B sales experience, with a proven track record of self-generated outbound prospecting and closing net-new business
Experience selling into C&I accounts; existing relationships with hospital groups, universities, large manufacturers, or municipalities in the region are a strong plus
Battery or similar energy industry sales and development experience strongly preferred
Coachable and feedback-oriented, with a long-term mindset
A genuine team player who shares insights and lessons learned
Comfort with self-direction and ambiguity
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).
Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.
PJM Battery Sales Manager
About Voltus
Voltus is the leading platform connecting distributed energy resources to electricity markets, delivering more affordable, reliable, and sustainable power. Our commercial and industrial (C&I) customers, along with our residential and grid services partners, earn revenue by allowing Voltus to maximize the value of their flexible load, distributed generation, energy storage, energy efficiency, and electric vehicle resources. Our product is tested and proven, and we have moved from startup to a stage of significant, rapid growth. We believe in "doing well by doing good," which includes doing right by our team, customers, and partners.
The Role
Voltus is seeking a Battery Sales Manager to build and lead a team of Battery Sales Directors who contract with Voltus's existing customers and prospects for batteries and work closely with Voltus’s battery partners on completing development. C&I demand response customers can deliver more capacity with a battery than with curtailment alone. This role exists to unlock that opportunity by building the team, tools, and processes to contract and deploy hundreds of MW of batteries across PJM quickly and efficiently.
The Battery Sales Team sits within the broader Partnerships Team. You will work with the Regional and Enterprise teams to identify customers for battery opportunities, and with Partnership Sales Directors and Battery Operations throughout the battery development cycle to make sure each battery is deployed and participating in the market.
Key metrics: MW of battery Letters of Intent (LOIs) signed, MW of Energy Services Agreements (ESAs) signed, and MW of batteries enrolled in market programs.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit, hire, and train a team of Battery Sales Directors to win in the PJM market
Sell batteries directly to end customers and secure signed LOIs
Partner with customers and Partnership Sales Directors to deliver a positive customer experience through ESA execution, battery development, COD, and market registration
Help evolve the battery offering by feeding customer and market intelligence to the broader battery team
Iterate on the battery sales playbook with the team
Who You Are
You understand how C&I customers think and how to move an organization toward a complex energy decision quickly. You are customer-focused and detail-oriented across a long sales and development cycle, and you collaborate comfortably with senior stakeholders at customers, partners, and across Voltus. As a player-coach, you will hire and enable sellers who are new to Voltus while rolling up your sleeves to figure out new things in a fast-evolving battery market. An open mind and grit are essential.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or sales in the energy industry
Proven ability to manage long, complex sales cycles involving multiple stakeholders in large organizations
Proven ability to build, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams
Familiarity with wholesale electricity markets, demand response programs, and batteries
Comfort with ambiguity: you will help shape our battery sales approach rather than wait for a fully defined playbook
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including developing processes, tools and campaigns with internal teams
Experience with Google Workspace, Salesforce, and Slack preferred
Please note that at this time, we do not sponsor visas or transfers for new hires. Voltus teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location (in the US or Canada, unless otherwise indicated on the role description).
Additionally, while Voltus is an all-remote workplace, we have limitations on where employees are able to work for regulatory and security reasons. We expect that Voltans are working primarily from their home country. Working while traveling to other countries must be approved as per our Global Remote Travel Policy.
